Tamera Diane Lin, an anthromorph canine, stood in the shadows. She was holding a spear in one hand. The wind blew around her long hair and tail. She watched the scene in front of her with glowing yellow eyes. Tamera tossed the spear aside. "Forget this." She howled, scaring off a bunch of deer ahead. The wolf ran off, leaving the territory off her pack. Tamera tossed the spear aside. "Forget this." She howled, scaring off a bunch of deer ahead. The wolf ran off, ready to leave the territory of her pack.
As she ran past, another wolf grabbed her by the wrist. "Where are you going?"
"Leaving the pack."
"Where will you go?"
"None of your business. Oh, and tell everyone I was the one who scared off the deer." She yanked her wrist from his grip and continued running.
"No good-bye kiss?!"
Tamera stopped and turned her head to face him. She open her mouth to speak, but then closed it and kept running. It didn't take very long because she was a fast runner and the nearest civilized place was only a quarter mile from her pack lands, but Tamera finally made it to a city. She got stared at because of her clothes. She was wearing a gold colored sports bra and a loincloth of the same color. The people weren't used to seeing "natives" that never came near the city.

Nia Lane opened up her change purse as she stood in front of the vender. She swished her cheetah tail from side to side as she flipped one coin at a time over with her claw.
"I know I have a quarter here somewhere." she growled softly with each word. The vender placed his rabbit ears to the back of his head and waited. Nia's tail swished even faster.
"I haven't got all day." the vender whistled through his buckteeth. Nia curled her lips a bit and continued searching her change purse for the cursed quarter. The rumble in her throat got a little louder.
"Miss, there are people behind you." the vender said with an air of boredom.
"Well they can wait a god damn minute can't they!" Nia hissed once she lost her cool
Her tail whipped so hard it could mow a lawn.
"Miss," he whistled again. "I'm going to have to ask you to leave." his voice sounded about the same as before.
"How about I take YOU home instead of the McVenison you little fur ball." Nia threatened thrusting her fang bearing face into his. He swallowed hard.
"SECURITY!" The next thing Nia knew she was being drug out by two lions in security uniform.
Tamera turned a corner and saw the cheetah screaming and kicking as two unformed lions carried her away. "Hey! Leave her alone!" The lions dropped Nia once she was outside.
"And don't come back." one of them tipped his hat to her as he politely said this. Then the two went back inside.
"That's the THIRD McMeaties I got thrown out of today!" Nia blared as she dusted herself off. "I aughta sue!" she shook a claw extended fist at the doors. Tamera blushed, feeling stupid for shouting for no reason. She walked over to the cheetah. "Um," she cleared her throat, "excuse me, Miss." Nia jerked her head around making her cheetah spot ponytail hit her face. She looked the wolf up and down with a slight glare.
"Hey, aren't you one a those native bitches from that reservation? What's yer kind doin' here?"
Tamera glared at her. "Excuse me? Native bitch? I'm not a freakin' native! Also, my "kind" aren't here, just me alone, and if you must know why I'm here, it's because I have to pass through this damned city!"
"Well exuuuuuuse me fer askin'. Geez are you sensitive. Are all you native bitches like that?"
Tamera's yellow eyes literally turned red. She grabbed Nia by the collar of her shirt and lifted her up off the ground. She held up the cheetah as high as her arm would reach. She growled fiercely. Nia dangled for a minute and in a swift blur kicked the wolf in the chin. Nia spun from her loosened grasp and landed softly on the cement below. She gazed the wolfess with her green cat-eyes as if this happened to her often. "Yeesh ya really are violent. I heard stories, but I never believed 'em." Nia straightened up and unwrinkled her white shirt. The kick to the chin hardly even fazed Tamera.
"Stories are stories. People assume after one--natives actions. I've been having a bad day, and I prefer not to be called names just for preparing to ask a question. You were the only one around, so I had to ask you. You see, we--natives have bad days, too, and feelings, or did you not know that because of damned stories?"
"What are ya talkin' about? I didn't call ya any names. I've been nice ta ya since ya got here!" Nia shouted gruffly.
Tamera rolled her eyes. "Calling me a native bitch was nice? You're one screwed up cheetah."
"What? Yer a bitch AND yer a native!" Nia didn't retaliate to the screwed up remark.
"I'm here in this God forsaken city without the rest of my pack, not taken back roads because I'm looking for certain stores, I have money, AND YOUR SITLL CALLING ME A NATIVE!" Tamera wasn't about to chew Mia out for being called a bitch, because, after all, she was a female canine.
"Fine." Nia rolled her eyes. "Whatcha lookin' for anyhow? I can show ya around. I've been in and thrown outta every store in town!" Nia almost sounded proud of this.
"Clothing store."
"Gotcha!" Nia winked and headed off brashly. As they traveled males stared at the duo and females pushed their pups to walk a little faster. Nia seemed to revel in the attention; Tamera did not. Tamera ran her fingers through her messy, silver hair.
"There ya go!" Nia stopped in front of a blue building.
"Leona's house of ass?" Tamera folded her arms and twisted one ear to the side.
"That's CLASS! The C and the L came off a coupla months ago." Nia spat. The wolf looked about at all the new clothing stores that surround this old dilapidated building. "It's my sis' shop." Nia beamed proudly.
"Is this the only store you haven't been kicked out of?" the wolf asked.
"Pshaw." Nia flicked her paw down. "I've been kicked outta this one too!"
"I see..." Tamera untied a pouch from the side of her loincloth and walked inside. She waited to see if Nia would enter. Nia bound inside and practically leapt at the figure behind the counter. The white tigress didn't even look up as she stepped to the side and Nia smacked into the floor. Tamera chuckled. She began to look around the store.
"Hi Nia." The tigress pushed up her glasses and continued to write on her clipboard. She didn't notice the wolf at all.
"Heya Tiff! We gotta customer!" Nia got up and pointed at Tamera. Her ears folded back and she growled.
"Oh?" the tigress looked up over her glasses but didn't lift her head. "And what did the cat drag in?"
"It's one a them native bitches!" Tiffany took her glasses off and let them hang from her neck by the chain. Tamera sighed. She looked at some nice shirts in many different colors she had never seen, not being able to go into a city before.
"Those are an old shipment." Tiffany approached her new customer. She looked the wolf up and down. "I have just the thing." after saying this she went into the back room. Tiffany came back out with a black tube top, a blue ankle length skirt with slits on both sides starting from the hip area, and a black leather jacket. The tigress smiled as she handed them to the wolf.
"Try them on." she ushered her towards the dressing room/restroom. Tamera tried on the clothes. She came out of the dressing room, her arms outstretched.
"Well?" Tiffany clapped her paws together once.
"Perfect!" she said with a purr.
"I like it!" Nia jumped up and down behind the counter.
Tamera looked at herself in a full-length mirror. She looked different from before. She looked less like a native, which she found to be good. the wolf then looked back at Tiffany and Nia. "How much?"
"Take it." Tiffany waved and walked back to the counter. "You make that outfit look better than it did on the rack." She smiled and put her gray plastic tortuous shell glasses back on and started writing on her clipboard again.
"You're giving it to her for FREE?!" Nia shouted at Tiff's ear.
"You know our policy. First outfit is free."
"As I recall," Nia growled and folded her muscular arms. "That's why we are going BANKRUPT!"
"No Nia, we're going bankrupt because you keep scaring away all our customers." Tiff said this very calmly.
"Am not." Nia whined. Tamera smirked as she looked at Nia.
"Scaring away customers, ay?"
"Just because I beat up this one guy..." Nia growled.
"I see..." Tamera ran her fingers through her greasy silver hair again and sighed.
"Yo sis." Another male tiger came in. A male cheetah and lion came in after him.
"Hi Dale." Tiffany once again didn't look up. Tamera waved timidly to the newcomers.
"Hey look guys." The male cheetah elbowed his buddies. "A wolf." The three looked at her.
Tamera bit her lower lip.
"Heh she looks like one of those natives from outside." the tiger thrusted his head up once and folded his arms.
"Naw she can't be. The natives don't wear stuff like that. They wear loins cloths made of deerskin an stuff. An war paint! Yeah! And they pierce their noses and tails and eat the flesh off other anthros." the cheetah smirked.
"Oh they do not." the lion rolled his eyes.
"To be exact, we do not eat flesh off of other anthros, we do not wear war paint, and we do not pierce our noses. We hunt regular deer, and we use spears." Tamera crossed her arms and raised her eyebrows.
"See." the lion looked at the cheetah. The cheetah stuck his tongue out at him. The tiger approached her.
"Hi, my name's Dale." he stuck his paw out for her to shake. She took it almost reluctantly. "That's Riff." he pointed to the cheetah. "And Leo." he nodded to the lion.
Tamera waved. "I'm Tamera Diane Lin. Tammy."
"Hi Tammy." He shook her hand again and looked back over to the guys.
Tammy was beginning to feel more comfortable around them. Dale, anyway. Dale smiled at her politely and walked over to his sisters.
"So what did we make today?" he asked her.
"A grand total off..." she punched some keys on a receipt calculator and took the paper off of it. She handed the paper to Dale.
"Fifteen dollars and twenty eight cents?" Dale raised an eyebrow at the number. "You need to stop giving away our stuff Tiff."
"See! Told ya!" Nia stuck her tongue out at the tigress. Tiff took her glasses off again and when Dale turned around stuck her tongue back out at Nia.
"Hey!"
"I can still pay for this outfit. I have money..."
Nia walked over and took the pouch. Before she could make it back to the counter proudly Dale grabbed it from her and gave it back.
"It's ok." Dale smiled. "Hey, why don't you join us for dinner?" he offered.
"Um, if it's okay with everyone."
Dale and Tiffany smiled at her warmly, Nia had an excited look, Leo had no expression at all, and Riff just checked out her tail. Tammy noticed and glanced in the direction he was looking. "What?!"
He grinned slyly at her and did a 'sup' motion with his head.
Tamera narrowed her eyes. "Men..."
Nia stuck her tongue out. "Groooooss!" Dale just chuckled. Tiffany of course wasn't paying attention. Tammy looked from one person to the next, not sure what to say or do now. A shadow of another feline leads a figure down the stairs.
"Momma!" Nia leapt to the hunched over tigress. She was riddled with wrinkles and her fur was more silver than white.
"Hello mom." both Dale and Tiff said at once.
"Hello Ms. Leona." Riff and Leo said at once. Tamera looked at the tigress.
"Hello," the ancient Tigress noticed her immediately and took her time down the stairs. Once she got to Tamera she put on her glasses (which looked a lot like Tiff's) and inspected the wolf. "A wolf? Here?"
"I found 'er at McMeaties!" Nia sounded as if she had just brought home a large kill.
"I see. Well make yourself at home dear." she straightened up.
"Um, okay." Tamera began to feel nervous.
