Myst

Kris wondered if she'd ever get out of the forest. It was a maze. Not even her Doberman, Sable, could sniff their way out of the forest. She was an outlaw, and never took bull from no one, but why did she feel like someone was watching her. She looked up into the trees every now and then, her sawed off shotgun at her side.
Aissa leapt from branch to branch of each tree. She watched the woman trying so hard to get out of the woods. By now she would have helped, but she didn't get along well with dogs. Finally she watched the woman stop, so she did too, making herself conformable in the same tree the lady was leaning against. Aissa swished her tail back and forth and proceeded with cleaning her paws.
Sable's ears lowered and she let out a deep, low, eerie growl. "What is it girl?" Kris looked up into the tree she was leaning against. She saw something up there. "Hmm..."
Sable's growl grew louder and louder. Kris started climbing up the tree. What was up there?
When she was almost to the top, the branch she was holding snapped. She grabbed a thin, weak branch and hung on. It was cracking. If it broke, she'd have a twenty foot drop to deal with.
"ROWR!" Aissa quickly tried to think of something. She looked up and the sky to see an eagle hovering above them. "Help!" she called up to it. "She's gunna fall!"
"EEE!" the eagle looked down and immediately went to the rescue. It dug its talons onto the woman's shirt a drifted her back to the ground.
As soon as Kris reached the ground, she probably pointlessly said thank you to the eagle. She hugged Sable and wondered what was up in those trees. "Hello! I would like to thank my true rescuer if your up there!"
Sable barked, growled, then let out some weird almost unbearable noises. Unknown to Kris, Sable was talking to Aissa.
"Promise you wont eat me?" Aissa asked Sable.
"The master would like to speak with you. I wont harm you for now."
"Very comforting... ok... I'm coming down." Aissa climbed down the tree backwards and leapt to the ground when she was close enough. She looked up at Kris expectantly.
"I-yee! Sable! Leopard! Help!" Kris wondered if this was her rescuer. Sable made a noise like a laugh. "Are, are, are you laughing at me? Sable, are you?" Kris looked at the dog, then at the leopard.
Suddenly, something came whizzing through the trees. It landed in front of Kris, scaring Aissa up a tree and Sable behind a huge rock. Kris ran from it to the rock Sable was hiding behind. "That was scary!" Kris exclaimed.
And how Sable, who then piddled, thought. Kris walked up to the thing, which turned out to be a glowing stone. She picked it up. It got hot and a feeling surged through Kris. She dropped the stone immediately.
"Master! Are you alright?!" Sable said, wishing Kris could understand her.
"I'm fine Sable. Sable! I just heard you talk!" Kris jumped.
"Wow! What was that?" Aissa asked.
"You too?! Wow! That rock gave me the power to talk to animals! Cool!" Kris smiled as she hugged Sable.
Aissa padded up to the green glow-in-the-dark stone and sniffed at it. She felt a jolt shock her nose.
"ROWR!" She leapt back and tried to skitter up the tree again, only to find out she no longer had claws. She looked herself up and down to find her body was... human! She was wearing leopard skin and from what Kris could tell her hair was cut in punk style. It was also the same color as the fur, even to the spots. "ROWR!" Aissa shouted again. Her eyes widened. They were still cat eyes and the other two saw they were two different colors. The left was an ice blue while the right was a teal green.
"Woah! What happened to you?" Sable wanted to find out what was going on. She accidentally stepped on the rock. She, too, felt a jolt surged through her.
"Sable!" Kris worried after seeing a bright light surround Sable. What would happen to her precious dog?
In an instant Sable was in human form. She was wearing a black tank top, brown leather pants, black boots, and had a black leather coat tied around her waist. She had long black hair and two very dark eyes.
"What happened?" Sable was confused.
"You, you, your both human? But, but two seconds ago you guys were animals. I'm confused." Kris noticed the rock was now just a normal looking black stone. When she went to pick it up, it disappeared.
"ROWR!" Aissa screeched again. "I'm bloody 'uman! I don' want to be 'uman!"
"How do you think I feel?" Sable asked her.
"But... but... but... wot am I gunna do as a bloody 'uman? I con't climb well anymore, I may not be able to talk to my brethren any more, and I'm excruciatingly ugly!" She grabbed some tufts of her hair.
"I wouldn't say your ugly." Kris replied. "What's your name?"
"Aissa."
"Well, Aissa, welcome to the human race."
"ROWR!"
"Shut up Kris!" Sable sat down, but had to cross her legs, finding it humanly impossibly to sit exactly like a dog.
"Ok, Sable, since when did I let you tell me to shut up?"
"I'm not a dog any more!" Sable grabbed a low but strong branch from a nearby tree and swung onto it.
"Impressive. I didn't know a dog could be so maneuverable." Aissa stared at Sable.
Kris sighed as Sable sat onto the branch, her legs hanging off the edge.
"I don' want ta be a bloody 'uman!" That's all it seemed Aissa would say.
"Why not? What's wrong with being human?"
"Don' git me started lady!"
"My name is Kris!"
"Fine, Kris. I don' wanna be a bloody 'uman because all you do is destroy the world! I don' wanna be a part a that!"
"Not all of us want to destroy the planet!"
"Doesn't matter! You all do it anyway!"
"I'm not!"
"Yeah, but you're lost!"
"I don't care if I'm in the middle of no where! I'm an outlaw and I have no partners except Sable, here. It takes a pretty big group to destroy a huge chunk of the world, let's say this forest, in a week. It would take me years to destroy this place, and I'm only here 'cuz it's the only way to get to the nearest city!" Kris Was not gunna let up until Aissa saw that not all humans, the outlaws for one, were bad.
"Oo cares? You're part of the big group, and now so am I. Bloody 'uman race."
"Did I turn you into a person? No. So stop whining, and let's get outta here."
"Wot makes you think I'm gunna 'elp you out?"
"Well, the fact that without proper food and shelter you'll eventually die out here. Now let's go. C'mon. SABLE!" Kris called out.
"Coming master." Sable called down from the tree.
"I still hate you 'cause there's no such thing as one person alone. You're one of many outlaws, and outlaws are some of many 'umans!" Aissa got in Kris's face.
Kris was enraged. She knew talking wouldn't help. She'd have to show Aissa the brutal way to make her listen. She made a fist and right-hooked Aissa right in the jaw.
Aissa Stumbled back a couple of steps.
"I'm sorry, but that's the way of the outlaw. You can stay here and die if you want and never truly know what the outlaws are like. I'll tell you to help you understand." Kris Stood tall.
"But, master..." Sable had only seen Kris like this once before, and that was during the time she was attacked by an assassin and had to kill him.
"Shut up!" Kris refaced Aissa. "An outlaw Stands alone. They don't give in to a fight. Most outlaws aren't nature destructive. They also carrier at least one weapon. Well known outlaws, like myself, have enemies and some of these enemies hire assassins. See ya' later. Sable, come on!"
Sable jumped down and followed Kris.
Aissa just stared.
"Bloody 'uman..." she muttered. "Why did I save 'er life?" Then she remembered her goal. When she was a leopard she saw how destructive people could be. She was once captured and put in a cage. People came to stare at her often and she noticed all the things they would do. They destroyed there own environment habitually, but she also knew which humans were good and which were bad. She had almost forgotten why she even followed Kris to begin with. She could sense great things were meant for her and wanted to help so she could fulfill them... maybe this was a part of Kris' test? Or perhaps, part of her own?
Aissa rubbed her jaw a bit and sat against the tree. But why couldn't she help as a leopard? Why a human?
"Huh? Why?" she called up to the heavens. That's when she saw Sable coming back. She was alone and looked worried.
"Help! Master needs help!" Sable was very worried.
"Let's go!" Sable led Aissa to where Kris was.
"JERKS!" In no time less that she said that word, a gunshot was heard and one of the three muscular guys in front of her dropped.
One of the two remaining guys drew out his gun. Kris put her finger on the trigger of her shotgun. They both pulled the triggers at the same time. One loud blast rung through the forest.
He dropped and only one person remained. He ran away. "Blast you!" In no time he was out of sight.
"Heartless money hungry assassins!"
"Needs 'elp eh?" Aissa looked at them with a small smirk on her lips. She crossed her arms and waited for the response. Nothing. "I'll 'elp you outta 'ere." She said to Kris. "But first you gotta prove ta me that my instincts weren't' wrong."
"What are you doing here?" Kris didn't know what Aissa meant by instincts begin wrong either.
"Sorry. I sent for help." Sable lowered her head.
"Why? I didn't need help. And Aissa, what were you talking about?" Kris looked at Sable, who answer first.
"I was just worried"
Kris then looked at Aissa.
"Prove it too me, and then you'll know." Aissa tilted her head to one side, and waited.
"PROVE WHAT!?" Kris started getting mad again.
Aissa didn't answer. "I'm waiting."
"You're confusing me."
"C'mon master, just prove yourself so we can get out of here." Even Sable knew what she was talking about. It was just Kris in the dark.
"I give up!" Kris figured even though these animals were in human from, that didn't change anything. She got angry. No way was she going to get enraged again.
She ran off before Sable or Aissa knew what she was doing.
"Where are you going master?" Sable started running after her. Kris rounded a corner. When Sable made it to that corner, Kris was no where to be found.
Unknown to the two human animals, Kris was hiding in the trees, and carefully and quietly making her way through the forest.
"I wonder why master would just leave?"
"With 'umans, who knows."
Elsewhere in the tree tops, Kris clenched something that was on a leather strap hanging from her neck. "I guess I'll hafta' use this." Kris sounded reluctant as she took off the necklace. She pressed a button on the mechanical cube. It made a shrill beep.
Kris quickly jump down out of the tree she was in and set the cube down. It grew to about ten times it's normal size.
Kris open a door on it and stepped in. She typed something on a keyboard. Her words appeared on a computer screen.
It read: Destination: Wolf Claw City. Date: 8/1/3004 Time: 3:16 P.M. Traveler(s) Name(s): Kristy Komichira
Kris pressed a button. There was a bright flash and she and the thing, which was a teleporter, vanished.
Kris appeared in Wolf Claw City, a city dedicated to a pack of wolves located in a park in the middle of town. She stepped out of the teleporter, typed something on a keypad on the outside next to the door, and stood back.
The teleporter shrunk back to normal as Kris pick it up. She hooked it to the leather strap and put the necklace back on her neck.
She suddenly felt a little sad. "I wish Sable wasn't human. I want her here with me. She's been my companion ever since I was 18." Kris sighed and walked into a grocery store.
It didn't take long for Aissa to figure the way out. Her keen senses may be gone, but her memory was still sharp. They found themselves in a city called Wolf Claw. Sable told her all about it.
"It's a city dedicated to this wolf pack. They're a nice bunch of wolves. I'm glad these people decided to preserve them." They walked down the street a little until Aissa got a strange feeling in her stomach. The sun was going down and as she watched she felt herself growing shorter. By the time the night came, Aissa was a leopard again.
"ALL RIGHT!" she mewed. Sable began barking excitedly too. They ran down the street at top speed. It was a strange site for the locals. A dog and a leopard running side by side in the middle of the city.
"It's good to be back home." Kris said. She had bought a Budweiser, a few apples, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, banana's and peaches, a dozen eggs, some cooking fuel, a frying pan, a pot, three cans of beef stew, a dog dish, a box of dog treats, and two bottles of water.
She was sitting on a bench in her hometown, organizing the items in her backpack and making room for the groceries when something appeared before her.
It was a hologram. There was a shadowed woman. This is what she said: Kris. Your two companions are back to normal, but you have not lost your ability. Use it to help creatures. Go talk with the wolves. Over and out!
"Well, that was weird. And what does she mean by 'two' companions? Well, I guess I should do as she said." Kris got up. She walked into the park.
"Come child. Climb over the fence. We sense your here to help us. Please. Help my brother."
Kris heard that voice. It was chilling, frail, and beast like. Kris carefully climbed over the fence into the wolf pen. There, she found about ten wolves in a circle. In the middle of that circle was a young wolf. He was bleeding to death.
Kris grabbed her first aid kit and ran up to him. "What happened?"
"He fell off a cliff."
It was the same voice that asked for her help. Kris lifted the young wolf's head. The blood that surrounded his head was from earlier. His head had already stopped bleeding. She bandaged it up. "Make sure he rests. He might have a concussion, but just keep making sure he remembers who he and his family is, ok?"
The wolves agreed and she climbed out of the wolf pen, where Aissa and Sable greeted her.
"I'm not 'uman any more!" she roared with delight.
"You know being human isn't THAT bad."
"Wot ever you say." Aissa shook her head. "You still got your power? Makes sense. You 'eld the bloody thing."
Kris kneeled down to Sable and gave her a hug. "I'm sorry I had to leave you. It was the only thing I could think of. I didn't really wanna use the teleporter, the messed up thing. I'm just glad your safe!"
"I wondered where you went... Mom." Sable had no clue why she called Kris Mom, but she knew it had to of made Kris happy, because she picked up Sable's 138 pound body and gave her another hug, just about squeezing her to death.
"Gack!"
"Oh please." Aissa rolled her eyes. "Oo needs that much affection?" Aissa's never actually had a good rubdown, but she never wanted one. When she was locked up she wouldn't let them touch her. That's why they let her go. They couldn't tame the wild beast.
"Did I tell you I got this weird hologram saying you, Aissa, were one of my companions?"
"Companion? Oh please."
"It was weird. I don't see how a leopard, especially a human-hating one, could be a companion" Kris got into her backpack. She pulled out he box of dog biscuits.
"I don' 'ate 'umans, y'know." Aissa put in. "If I did I wouldn't a 'elped you."
"Oh boy! Treats!" Sable jumped up in the air and spun around. Kris took one of the treats and fed it to Sable.
"Where's your dignity dog?" Aissa sounded astounded.
Sable shot Aissa an apologetic look.
"Want another treat?" Kris Threw a treat up in the air. Sable jumped up and caught it.
"Oh brother." Aissa was hardly amused.
Kris pulled out another treat. "Bang!" Sable laid down then rolled on her back and let her tongue flop out. She was acting like she got shot. She sat up and caught the treat Kris threw at her. Kris put the dog treats away.
"Another species I'm glad not to be a part of," Aissa sighed curling up into a ball.
"Excuse me, but I had to train to learn those tricks. Now I get rewards for displaying them. But, I guess a forest dwelling hairball wouldn't understand that!" Sable stood up proud. She had to train, now it pays off.
"I can do all that stuff too, pet." Aissa hissed. "I just don't have to do them on command."
"Priss! If you weren't a large sharp-toothed dog eating carnivore, you'd be on my dinner plate!"
"Woah! Woah! Sable! Aissa! Knock it off!" Kris picked up Sable and would've shoed Aissa away if it wasn't for the second hologram she got before leaving the forest.
Aissa hissed at them once again and trotted off to a tree. She leapt onto one of the branches and stayed there. From the distance she kept an eye on Kris and Sable.
Kris sat Sable down. She got out her paw print sleeping bag and sprawled it out on a bench. She crawled inside and went to sleep. Sable jumped up onto the bench and laid at Kris's feet.
"Ha, the thing can't even sleep on the ground." Aissa thought to herself. Then she realized she wasn't sleeping on the ground either. Hours passed and Aissa lay awake in the tree. Just then she heard a crackle in the bushes. Her ears perked and her fur puffed up. "What was that?"
A muscular guy came out of the bushes. He had a masamune strapped across his back. He snuck up on Sable, grabbed and muzzled her, hog-tied her legs together, and threw her in a nearby pond.
Then he drew his masamune, raised it, and slashed at the sleeping bag. "What?! It's empty?!"
"Got that right jerk!" Kris pulled the trigger of her shotgun. The assassin fell down dead. Kris ran to the pond, saved her drowning dog, and took of her bondegings.
She rolled up her damaged sleeping bag and put it away.
She pulled out the dog dish and filled it half way with some water from one of the water bottles and let Sable drink it.
"I'm so glad you didn't drown and that we're still together."
Kris looked at her watch. 2:53 A.M. "Mom. I'm glad your also ok."
"Yeesh," Aissa rolled her eyes as them.
"If you don't like our company why don't you leave?"
"Where else will I go? 'Sides it's too amusing watchin' you." Aissa replied. Just then she crouched down and leapt onto a jack rabbit that was behind Sable. With one snap of the neck she began to eat her blooded breakfast. Then she saw the two stare at her.
"Wot? You want a piece?"
"No." they said simultaneously.
"Domestic dogs pretty much loose their will to hunt."
Kris looked at Sable, who jumped onto the bench. Kris laughed
"Dear lord, how on earth do they catch food when they're lost?" Aissa asked licking the rabbit's bones.
"What do you think? We dump over garbage cans. Haven't you ever heard that people throw precious foods, like McDonald's, away?" Sable easily imagined herself raiding trash cans behind a diner just to be chased by the owner and Kris. "It can happen." Sable smirked, thinking about the many hamburgers she stole from trash cans.
Kris shook her head as she sat down on the same bench as Sable. "Remember that dumb rotweiler you met? Boy was he stupid! What was his name anyway?"
"Ashcan!" Sable jumped off the bench, walked a few feet away from her, and laid down, letting out a low growl and started mumbling. "Ashcan, although a little smelly, wasn't dumb. He was smart and handsome and you took me away from him."
Kris just stared. "Well, excuse me! I just..." She was cut off.
"Excuse me. The leopard has something to say!"
"Trash cans? Dog's are disgusting." Aissa gnawed on the skull a bit.
"Anyway, I just didn't want any ugly doberman rotweilers to sell off since I didn't, and still haven't, spayed you! And didn't you have a red doberman pinscher as a boyfriend!? What happened to him?! At least he'd make a decent dad!"
"His name was Reed! He was an escaped convicted! It was winter, duh! And he ran off with a prissy red female doberman pinscher. Ya' happy?"
"Um, well, I suppose. No." Kris just looked at Sable sympathetically. "Sorry I asked."
Sable had lowered her head, her tail, her ears, and laid under the bench, where it was dark. She missed Ashcan and hated to bring up how much Reed had hurt her.
Aissa and Kris just looked at her. Aissa went back to eating as Kris sighed.
Aissa started laughing.
"'Oo, sound like a bloody 'uman." She got in between chuckles. "O' course I forget yer a pet."
Sable crawled out from under the bench. She was baring her teeth, growling, and her eyes were slightly red. She jumped up and pounced onto Aissa. The two started fighting on pure instinct.
Kris tried to get close enough to pull the two apart, but ended up hollering in pain when Sable accidentally bit her leg.
By the time she got a hold of Sable, the dog had lost the fight, a huge gash in her head.
"That'll teach you, ya little bugga." Aissa jumped into the nearest tree. "Pets can't win a wild fight."
Kris got mad. Really mad. She carefully sat Sable down. She climbed up the tree and knocked Aissa right out of it. She quickly climb down it herself and ran up to Sable, not knowing if the dog was alive or not.
"ROWR!" Aissa bared her huge claws and raised all the hair on her back.
"I don't fight 'umans." She warned. "It's bad for my ruputation."
"Oh, and you kill dogs!" Kris shouted.
"I didn't kill the thing... but if yer that worried." Aissa stepped up to Sable and began to lick her wounds. Each time her tongue touched the gash it healed a little quicker. Finally there was no sign of the injury, not even a scar.
Kris let Aissa heal Sable, then picked up her dog. "Hologram from Princess Teral or not, I can't trust you and Sable to be around each other!" Kris kicked at Aissa.
"Princess Teral. What did she have to say?"
"She told me to put my trust into you to ally me in some kinda' adventure. But that ain't gunna happen, you spotted devil! What would I be doing trusting a leopard anyway!?"
"You ARE the one..." Aissa lowered her head to her front paws. "Forgive me, I didn't know."
"Eh? You hit your head too or somethin'?"
"I am your servant. I was sent here by the one who gave you the power. At first I thought it was because of the comet. But this is something you've always had inside you. It only took that experience to bring it out." She never lifted her head. "Forgive me for distrusting you."
"Sorry Aissa. I didn't mean to attack you. Mom, Kris, Master, Mastress, Mistress, whatever you want to be called, It's true. Your not trying to be assassinated because your well known or an outlaw extraordinaire. It's because your Teral's daughter. The current queen, who has no relation to Teral, is selfish and doesn't want Teral to be queen. She's hired those men to kill you and to make sure I do not guard you. It is Aissa's and my duty to protect and ally you. You still have a ways to go, though. But don't worry. You'll make it to Seer Town and become princess."
"But, my mom died."
Aissa stepped up to Kris. "She was 'upposed to protect 'oo from assassins. 'our real name is Lita and 'ou were born in Seer Town. Speakin' of, we better get rollin' if Sable and I need to get you to Trovin Castle unharmed."
"What was this like a show or somethin'? Were you just pretending you didn't like Sable? Or humans?" Kris asked as they traveled.
"No, I don' like 'umans. But I do like 'elping. It's just coincidence that 'umans need 'elp."
Kris grinned.
"And I don't like dogs. The only reason I didn't respect Sable as I should of was because I had no idea the guardian canine named Sabera in our past lives was Sable the doberman pinscher in our new lives."
"Past lives?"
Sable started to speak. "Yes. Past lives. I was Sabera the wolf, a guardian canine to you. You were Litrina, soon to be princess of Trovin Castle, Seer Town, and the rest of the Kingdome. Aissa was Aiserina, a great cloud leopard with amazing strength there to ward off the enemy, and, sometimes, kill those who somehow dodged Aiserina's and my senses."
Kris was amazed.
"An evil spirit over took Queen Forenal, now Evil Queen Fora. She had princess Teranada, now Princess Teral, you, me, and Aiserina destroyed. The spirit over took the whole Kingdome it that's when it all went to hell." Sable seemed lost in a world of memories.
Aissa did too. "The world was reborn. Sabera and I were reborn as a doberman pinscher Sable and a regular leopard Aissa.
"Though we still retain some of our original powers. I'm still strong and can heal anythin'."
"And I'm still super intelligent and can sense even the future at times."
"Wow, an all this time I thought you were just good at tricks."
"Nope. Unless you call this a trick. We awoken you and Princess Teranada when evil Queen Forenal awoke. We can't let what happen last time happen now. We need to make you princess, Teral queen, and exile evil Fora. Ready to rumble guys?"
"ROWR!" Aissa agreed loudly. The roar itself shook the ground a bit. "I 'aven't done tha' in a long time." she wanted to smile. She then sighed.
"We can't git in like this. They'll never let us... we're gunna have ta..." Aissa didn't want to admit this, but she knew it was the only way. "Be 'uman."
"And how are we gunna do that?" Sable asked her.
"Well, that rock's still out there."
"Not really. It's in here." Kris held up her necklace. "I took a piece of it for study." she smiled. Aissa didn't look too thrilled but Sable was wagging her tail, which hasn't been docked to a stub.
The stone glowed. "Think about what type of clothes you wanna wear. It'll be different this time, Sable. If you don't, we'll end up naked."
The two touched the stone. Sable was the same as before except for the white mini-skirt and red halter top she now had on. Aissa was wearing a halter top with a leopard pattern on it and a pair of black capri.
"You guys look great ." Kris, or Lita, said. The two once beasts had to agree with her.
A hologram appeared in front of Sable and Aissa. It was Teral. "Please. Protect my daughter. With Evil Fora's power growing, I will soon be killed. Please! Help her and save the Kingdome!"
"But princess!" The hologram disappeared before Aissa could finish her sentence.
Suddenly, Kris fell to the ground. With her coat in her backpack, her shirt was torn, a fairly deep gash down her back.
"Grr! You jerk! I'll get you for that!" Despite the pain, Kris got up. She had her shotgun out in and instant, aiming at a shadowy figure.
It slowly emerged from the shadows. It was a muscular dude with a scar on his left eye. "I am so sorry I was not able to kill you. But I will have my chance to if you meet me at the time of the assassins." He spoke in a raspy voice.
"Night time?" Kris was as calm as she acted. She had been through his too many times to be really nervous.
"Yes. That is correct. By the way, my name is Amarion. You better meet me in the old waist yard in the back of this city." With that he was gone.
"Mastress!"
"Shut up! I gotta do what I gotta do!" Kris Shot the last bullet up into the air, signaling a showdown of the night. She reloaded her gun
"I will be lookin' forward ta this." Aissa smiled. She could do that now that she was human and all.
"Aissa!" Sable barked.
"Wot? You expect me ta lie? After all these years ya still don' know me. I'm a war animal!" Aissa exclaimed beating her chest.
"War? HA! You never really fought a day in your life!" Sable sneered.
"Say that again and I'll bite out that tongue of yours!"
"Guys!" Kris shot another bullet into the air. "Enough fighting! I mean it!"
"I'm going to handle this alone! If things get really bad, and I do need backup, you two have got to be hiding near us. Ok?" Kris put in an earring type thing, then handed one to Aissa and Sable. "Put these in. They're like cell phones, but all you hafta' do is hold it and talk. It never goes out of range. Trust me. Now. I'm headed out to the bar. Alone. See you guys later."
About an hour later, Kris made it to Apakagona town and entered the bar. By the time she had about a bottle of bawdier gone, and handsome, muscular, older dude came up and sat next to her.
"Hi. I'm Takeru. Mind if I have a drink with you?" His voice seemed anxious. Very anxious.
"Why not?" older people. "At least I won't be as bored any more." In a quick gulp she had finished off the rest of her bud.
"Um, mind if I buy you a drink?" Kris thought this guy knew her somehow. "Uh, I know you think I'm trying to hit on you, but I get word from Wolf Claw City a young lady, who's description matches you perfectly, shot off a signal. Is there going to be a dual tonight?"
"Yeah. By the way, do you know a dude named Amarion?"
"Uh? Um, yes. I do. He's a killer, hired by Fora."
"Well. That explains a lot. Well, Takeru, I gotta go. I only have over an hour to get to the old waist land. Bye!"
When Kris mad it back, Sable had a mad look on her face. "You can't get drunk! Not now!"
"I'm not drunk! I had one beer and talked to a guy trying to flirt with me. That's all. Now, if you'll excuse me." Kris polished her shotgun. She headed out to the waist land.
She pressed a very small button on her earring thing.
"Aissa! Sable! You girls with me?"
"Yes Mastress!"
"I'm right here Lita!"
"Good! Hide nearby just in case! I'm going to take care of this guy. Hehe. See ya' after I beat the pants off of..."
"So nice seeing you again Kris. Are you ready to die?"
"Shut up!" Kris pulled out her shotgun. Amarion pulled out a sword. "Well, well. This should be interesting." Kris put down her shotgun and pulled out a sword hiding behind her coat. She pulled it and her backpack off and onto the ground. "Lets gooooo!"
They rushed at each other at the same time. As if in slow motion, the two collided, slashing their swords at each other. They passed, stopped, and fell to the ground.
"Ow!" Kris slowly kneeled, one hand on the ground, supporting her weight, the other wrapped around her waist.
"Kris! Kris! How's it going?"
"Mastress! What happened?
"Well, I gotta cracked rib. It's kinda slowing me down. Owie...!" Kris looked up to a voice.
"Hello Lita! I didn't expect to have to face you, but it seems Amarion failed! I am the true assassin here! My true name is Takeru, and I will kill you!"
"Yeah right! Hey, I met you at the bar!"
"That is correct." Takeru ran up to her and rammed into her.
She flew back about ten feet and landed. "Ask!"
Takeru jumped up and shot his gun at her.
"Ahh!"
"Now! It's time to finally get rid of you!"
"Not so fast!"
"You'll hafta' get through me before you can kill Mastress!"
"Huh? Allies! Well, we'll hafta' take care of this!"
"Dangit! Sable! Get outta' there you crazy fool!"
Takeru came up to her. She jumped up when Takeru slashed at her with his dagger. The force of the hit caused her to fly back and land on the ground. Lifeless.
"Now it's my turn!" Aissa revealed a scythe. Takeru pulled out a masamune. They attacked. He knocked Aissa to the ground. It must have killed her, for she did not move, nor breath.
"No..." Kris had her shotgun aimed at Takeru's head. He turned around. Kris pulled the trigger. He fell down dead. "Aissa. Sable. No."
Suddenly she heard moans. Aissa and Sable popped up from the ground like daisies.
"Glad to... see... you girls... are... o...... k......" Kris fell to the ground. She was unconscious. The pain from her wounds were too much to handle.
"Kris!" The girls were worried.
"This is your fault!" Aissa shouted at Sable. "It was your idea!"
"My idea?! Aren't we forgetting you agreed to all this?!"
"HA! I agreed to NOTHING! I only fallowed!"
"You don't fallow!"
"I'm 'uman! 'Uman's are sheep with skin!"
"Hey! Mastress is human!"
"An' she's a sheep! She didn't 'ave to make a showdown! She fallowed the process! She's a sheep!"
"Fine then you feline from hell! Go! But, it's not my fault you never become the beautiful, strong cloud leopard you once were! You're just a heartless beast! Besides, you knew this would happen! Didn't you! I don't see why you couldn't have been reborn a rat! A little black rat! That way I'd have you long dead by now!" Sable thought about if Aissa wasn't there, Kris would have been dead, but now that didn't matter.
She summoned some type of power and turned into a doberman again. But not before pulling a piece of metal bigger then Kris over to her and tying a rope around a huge hole in it. She used her teeth and muscles to drag Kris onto it. She clenched the rope in her teeth and dragged the metal with Kris on it back to the main part of Wolf Claw City.
Aissa watched her for a while. She may have been human but she still had her cat like agility. She managed to stay hidden all the way to Wolf Claw. If anything really happened to them it'd destroy her, but she wasn't going to let them know that. The reason she was ever as powerful as she had been was because she put her emotions aside, but recently it's been harder for her to do. Why she couldn't answer, but after all these years, only a few days ago something inside her decided to make a change.
As she watched Sable struggle with Kris she felt herself reverting back to normal. Finally she decided to make herself known. What was she hiding for anyway? Why was she neglecting the one person she was actually created to serve? At first she thought it was free-will, but she slowly realized it was all an image. An image she really didn't need.
"Sable!" she called out. "It may be easier with two animals. That 'uman weighs a ton."
"No! I can handle her. I have powerful jaws, strong muscles, and I can only keep getting stronger now that my goal has gone beyond what it should have! Besides, who needs a little kitten with a bad temper the size of Tokyo helping, then hurting again?" Sable continued to drag Kris. She had to. She knew Aissa could be trusted, but the only way to truly get Aissa to stop her nonsense was to let her fully mature. Aissa would probably come close to killing her in the process, but Sable was more awaken a lot longer than what Aissa was. Her goal was more than protecting Kris. It was to protect Aissa as well, and get her to grow up. She really was a kitten. Sable could not let Aissa know about this, nor would she.
"Guess I deserved that..." Aissa sighed and hung her head. "I'll just be on me way then. I canna 'elp you anyway." What was coming over her? This didn't feel normal.
"Aissa, cool it kitten!"
"No, you're right. I do have a temper the size a Tokyo. I'll jus' leave 'ou. You're better at protectin' than I'm." Aissa couldn't believe what she was saying. How could a pet like Sable be better then her? A creature of the wild? It was as if she had no control over her own actions... for the first time her life, she was scared.
"Dangit! Kitten! You have to stay with us!"
"Why?!"
"Why! You wanna know why?! Well, I can't tell you. At least, not right now! But you hafta' stay!" Sable continued dragging Kris. "Now! Get on! Or do I hafta' come human and force you on there?!"
"Why do 'ou want me? I'm useless. 'Ou said it yourself." What am I doing? Aissa thought. Sable! I'm not in control! Run! But the words wouldn't come out.
"I don't care if you have control or not! My new goal causes me to have powers I'm not supposed to have. Immortal strength, never aging, mind reading! Now come on before I hafta' start cussing! I'm strong enough to put you in your place if you go outta' control!"
"I'm in control." No! You don't understand... "I beg of you, just let me be alone for a while..." I'm not in control! Someone more powerful than all of us is! "Just for a while." Aissa tried her best to say her own words. The struggle in her own mind was exhausting. She was almost ready to give up... but she knew she couldn't.
"Aissa. I can't read minds. And you, the real Aissa, is under Control. But, you cannot contain the evil that has possessed you. Evil spirit! You shall not obtain Aissa as you have Fora! Now! Face me!"
Aissa dropped. A dark shadow took a form. "Heh. Just a powerless shadow, eh? You took Aissa's strength!"
The two raced at each other and collided.
"Aissa! Awaken!"
Aissa woke up.
"Help!"
"What?..." Aissa felt weak. She could barely lift herself off the ground.
"Help!" When the leopard looked she saw Sable fighting... herself. The thing must not have left completely. Some of it was still in her, confusing her perception. She didn't know which one was real.
So Aissa could tell who was who, Sable tore open her leg with her jaws. She winced, but didn't really mind.
"Aissa! I need help, but please try and protect Kris!"
Aissa knew only Sable was stupid enough to come close to ripping off her leg. "Got it!"
Aissa crept up to Kris with what strength she had. The only thing she could do was lay on top of Kris's beaten body. She crawled on top and accidentally knocked the tube on her necklace off. It must have loosened during her battle. It gave her an idea.
Aissa sniffed around. She picked it up, set the cube down, and pressed a button. it grew. She pulled Kris inside, then herself. "Sable!"
The doberman with the torn leg ran inside and closed the door. She typed in: Destination: Maroon Rose City. Date: 8/5/3004 Time: 4:38 A.M. Traveler(s) Name(s): Kristy Komichira, Sable and Aissa
Sable pressed a button. They teleported.
"Aissa! I'm giving you a huge portion of my strength. The thing is coming! Here!" Aissa and Sable disappeared. They reappeared, Aissa stronger.
They stepped out. Sable dragged out Kris and pressed something on the keypad. It shrunk and she replaced it around Kris's neck. Her arm was sickening to look at. She turned back into a dog. There was the other doberman. "Aissa! Now!".
"ROWR!" she cried and leapt. That "temper" Sable was talking about took effect, and a fatal blow took out the other Sable. "I don't like things in my head!" she growled. As proud of herself as a kitten catching it's first mouse she bound away with her chest high.
"You're still a kitten, but you did a wonderful job. Now! Hold on!" Sable turned back human and turned Aissa back to a human and carried Kris to the nearest hospital, where the three were healed.
The shadow was defeated, but the battle was not over. Aissa didn't know it, but deep inside her mind the thing was still there, and now that she thought she had defeated it.
"How come 'ou can go 'uman at will an not me?" Aissa asked Sable while Kris was setting up camp. They had all decided to stay in the woods where it was safe.
"Well, you could, if you learn this incantation. I picked it up when I got a hologram from Teral. You'll hafta' say it before morphing. You can morph at will after you get it in your head. Here it goes. Make me human so the farther I can look. Help me succeed in the deed! Take the magic spells from a book! The reverse is easy. Just think of your formal self while saying the incantation." Sable looked at Aissa expectedly.
"Wot?" Aissa shook her head in confusion. Any other time she could pick it up like it were nothing, but tonight it was like her mind was in a fog. "I don' understand."
Sable lowered her head. "Aissa. Your evil. You've always been evil. A surprise? Defiantly. I was able to drown out the spirit. I almost succeeded. If I did, which would be impossible, You wouldn't be like this. The past is happening again. The only difference is, we're going to exile Fora this time!" Sable looked like she wanted to cry, but stood calm. Very calm.
"I'm wot? Impossible. I don' remember... I couldn't 'ave..." but the more she thought about it the more it made since. "I was the one who started this... this thing. But why? Why did I? ANSWER ME!"
"Um, lessee, I lost my memory for a bit, or else Kris, erm, Future Princess Lita, and I would have been looking for you, making sure we three would get to Seer town a long time ago. Hard to explain, but, think about it. At least, try. I know your being possessed. Heck, you already are. Fight it! You have to! Fight it! FIGHT IT!" Sable was being serious. She needed to tick of the evil spirit and fully heal Aissa. She didn't have the time to in their past lives.
"Why? Why now to come back? I've been fine for years. Why is it taking me now?" Her mind fogged a bit more. "I won' go out like this! I wont!" she shouted. Kris, who had been quiet most of this time spoke up.
"Why is it after you anyhow? You'd think it would be after me. I'm the princess."
"Because we were actually born before you. This... what is it... this thing knew we had a great quest coming. Just an unusually large gray wolf and a one of a kind cloud leopard with amazing vibes bouncing off of them would attract evil. It went to Aissa. It split itself in half. The one half went to Aissa. The other to Evil Queen Fora. I don't know why I didn't get affected. Actually, I'm not so sure I didn't. It's really hard to say. Anyway, Future Princess Lita, I'm glad your awake."
"Call me Kris!"
"'Our just so perfect ain't ya'. Ya' little bugga'! I 'ate you! I
ate this quest! I 'ate Kris! I want to kill 'er!" Aissa's mind was totally fogged out. The evil was speaking now!
"No! I gotta fight! I gotta... ah ta hell wit' it." Aissa hissed at the two. "I'll tear ya limb from limb. Ya can't win a wild fight. Rememba'?" Her fur spiked up and she crouched close to the ground. Neither Sable nor Kris wanted to fight her, but if they had to they would fight this concentrated evil that was taking over an innocent creature... if you could call Aissa innocent.
Kris pulled out her shotgun and loaded it. "No! We don't want to kill her!" Sable chanted something. It was an incantation. In a second flat she became her past life self. "You can do this too, Aissa. Now, can an unusually large gray wolf with a lot more strength than a wimpy doberman win a fight against a weaker then usual normal leopard? I think so." They attacked.
"ROWR!" Aissa fought, her strength seemed to surpass even what it was as a clouded leopard. Of course Aissa had no say in the fight, the creature did. Outside was a battle to remember, but there was also one inside. Inwardly for Aissa she was fighting her inner demons, and losing. "Wot do 'ou want?" Aissa hissed at the shadow of evil. "Get ou' o' me head!"
"I can't do that..." The thing also hissed, only it's was more snake like. "I need you...and you need me..."
"Me? Need 'ou? Ha! Ha! Ha! An' all that." Aissa's sarcasm was evident in the laugh...
"It's true. You were never powerful, and you were never created to serve Lita. You were created to serve me. As was your mother." The being came from the shadows. It was supposed to be Fora.
"No. My mum served Fora...not 'ou."
"Foolish cub, I AM Fora."
"No! I refuse ta believe 'ou! Fora was a kind ruler. Just like Lita will be!"
"There's no such thing as a kind ruler. I was never kind, it was all a front. And now that I am free to be myself NOTHING can stand in MY WAY!" Deep down Aissa always felt sorry for Fora. She was always, has been and will be, a tortures spirit. That speech revealed even more of her strife. Perhaps killing the evil wasn't what needed to be done. Maybe all Fora needed was someone to care. Like Aissa's mother did before she died giving birth to her.
Aissa ripped open Sable's wounded leg again. "Rah-ee-yaa! That's it!" Sable crushed Aissa's head with her powerful jaws, but only enough to scare the spirit and kill it.
"Wot's going on?" Aissa asked as she was shot back to reality just in time for Sable to bit her head. "ROWR!" Aissa yelped and passed out. Evil wasn't duped that easily.
"Sable," Kris went up to the leopard. "I think you killed her..."
"The thing must have gone back in before I got to... oh no."
Sable said something in rhyme. She turned into a doberman and disappeared. Since Aissa is asleep, I can battle the thing from inside her. Poor cat. May she never have to learn this rhyme. She saw it. A dark shadow of a viper tiger thing. "Heh. What a miserable thing."
"Miserable? Me? How dare you take that tone. I GAVE you to Lita!" The viper tiger had Fora's voice.
"You mistake. Now I'm going to protect her." Sable growled.
"You can't fight me." Fora grinned. "You'll hurt Aissa, if you don't I will." Aissa's form was fading as it approached the two.
"There won' be mucha me left." her voice blinked as much as her form. "Do wot you 'ave to." Sable nodded and growled at Fora.
"You dare stand against me? I will crush you in a second."
"Oh no you wont!" Another form came in. The same person they kept seeing in the holograms. Teral went to the viper tiger morphing slowly into an animal herself. A white unicorn with a silver mane and golden horn. "I've let this go on long enough. Sable, go back to Kris. She needs you more than Aissa. I promise I'll take this evil from your friend." Teral gave her word then scuffed her crystal hoof onto the ground. Sable nodded again and blinked out. "Friend?" Was the last thought on Aissa's mind before she awoke.
Sable left. She changed to a wolf, forced Kris on her back, and ran off into an alley. There, she and Kris hid.
Aissa woke up with a serious headache. "Wot hap'ned?" She moaned. She stood up and shook her head. The fog had cleared but it felt as if the thing gave her a major hang-over. When her vision cleared she saw nothing of Sable and Kris. "Did I kill 'em?" She asked herself. "I con't rememba'." One thing was for certain though. She felt like herself again, even, dare we say it, better than ever before.
Aissa. If you see glowing red wolf prints, follow them. It was Teral. There were a track of red paw prints. she fallowed them, and saw Sable guarding Kris.
"Hello Cat." Sable smiled. Her voiced sounded wicked, rough, and deep, like a normal wolf's would.
"Well, what happened?"
"Long story."
"But Sable!"
"What's going on? Girls?" Kris rubbed her eyes. She woke up.
"Nice seeing you again."
The two animals turned back to their doberman and normal leopard selves.
"Uh-huh."
"Hi Kris. Sorry I caused so much trouble."
"Cat, Future Princess Lita, we must go!"
"I like Aissa better," she put in.
"Call me Kris. What is it with you and names?"
"I dunno."
Kris folded her arms. "Well, your one hair short of being smart.
"Future Princess Lita!"
"Drop it Kris. She's older than 'ou or me."
Sable jumped onto a rock and laid down. Suddenly, her ears perked up and twitched. "Aissa! Kris!" Sable grabbed Kris by the jacket and pulled her away and Aissa jumped outta' the way as bullets went whizzing by.
Kris got out her shotgun and shot it.
"Ahh!"
"Wow! 'Our a sharp shooter even when 'ou can't see." Aissa went up to the body. "Uh-oh."
Sable also walked up to it. "Do you by chance on this person. He has the royal symbol on his badge."
"Nope. Haven't you noticed that all the assassins are given those type badges by Fora"
"Hey! Watch where your shooting dangit!" A girl with blood read hair wearing white pants and a long cape which doubled as a shirt stepped from the shadows. "You almost killed me!"
Kris stepped up. "What the hell are you doing here?"
"I was told to come here and look for a girl with aqua hair, a doberman, and a leopard all in one group and kill them by Fora. I decided to check out what was going on. Who are you? And why was I hired to kill you? By the way, my name is Miki Tyuga." Miki pulled out her shotgun.
"Well isn't she the friendly one?" Aissa remarked to Sable. Feeling like her old self again she jumped into the tree just above Miki's head. She didn't seem to notice.
"Why does Fora want you dead? Truthfully, I think she's a fat hag who hires people without asking." Miki folded her arms with a smirk on her face.
Kris giggled. "Yup. That's her. By the way, my name's Kris." Kris walked up to shake Miki's hand.
The two girls, who were the same age, shook hands.
Suddenly, there was a flash of thunder. "You fool! You have disobeyed me! I know I should be taking care of Lita myself, but I only have enough power to do this!" Fora's green eyes appeared.
A glowing green fire surrounded Miki. Her body was changing. She morphed into a giant blood red eagle. She was big enough to carry Kris, Aissa, and Sable on her back. "Eee!"
"Those look bloody familiar..." Aissa hissed and leapt at the two green eyes without even a thought. She could feel a warm blaze as she passed through them and the shadow within her slithered out into the pupils of them. Laughter could be heard and Aissa felt weak again.
"Oh no..." Sable muttered at everything that seemed to be happening at once.
A blood Red streak raced through the sky and caught Aissa. It was Miki. She may have been an eagle, but still knew who her friends were. She flew Aissa safely to the ground. "Eee!"
"Thank 'ou," Aissa said timidly.
"You ok?" Kris asked her as she watched Aissa wobble a bit.
"Uh huh..."
"You know, you're a lot more trouble than you're worth!" Kris shouted in response to Aissa lethargic "Uh huh."
"Uh...ok?" Aissa was lost.
"Eee!" Miki was flying towards the eyes. She stuck her beak in one.
"Ah! Oh the hell with you Lauren!" The eyes faded.
"Lauren? What the...?" Kris asked Miki as she came back down.
Miki shrugged.
Aissa backed away slowly. That passing through the eyes thing gave her a jolt she didn't like. She was going to get as far away as possible from these whackos.
"Aissa where are you going?" Sable asked.
"Oh, dash it all," Aissa muttered.
"Oh no... not again! Kris! Tackle Aissa and hold her down! Now! We can't let her run away like last time! That's what got her destroyed before you or me, or your sister!"
Kris tackled Aissa, who struggled to get away. Miki gently placed a giant foot on the leopard. "My sister?"
"God watch over her where ever she is. I believe her name was, um, lemme think, Laura!"
"Isn't that what those eyes called Miki?" Kris struggled to hold Aissa down.
"No. She said Lauren"
"ROWR!" Aissa struggled for a second, then settled down. No point in wasting vital energy now.
"Close enough." Kris eased up a bit once she realized Aissa wasn't fighting anymore.
"Hold on. If I had to think of her name and came up with Laura, and Fora said Lauren..." Sable gasped. "Fora was trying to turn your sister against you! Miki, err, Lauren! Try to talk! We can understand eagle!"
"Eee! Eee eee eee! Eee!" alas, no words came out. Miki hung her head.
Aissa pushed out the notion of escape and was now just amused and curios.
"Wot on bloody earth got 'ou into all this?" she asked Sable.
Sable sighed. "Believe it or not, you and a hologram."
"'eh?"
"Eee! Eee eee!"
"Oh shut up! 'Ou can't be that girl's sister. 'Our an eagle."
"Huh?" Kris's jaw dropped. "You can understand her?!"
"O' course I can. Can't 'ou?"
"No."
"Bloody shame." Aissa gave a cat grin.
Kris got off of Aissa. "She's cursed! Sable nor I can understand her!"
"Eh? Cursed?" Aissa went up to the eagle and looked her up and down. "She don' look cursed to me."
"She used to be human!"
"A 'uman? Really? I say." Sable then got an idea.
"Hey, what's your name?" she asked.
"Well that's a stupid question isn't it? It's... er... 'ou know I 'aven't the foggiest."
"That's what I thought."
"Your name is Aissa!" Sable baped Aissa on the head with a glowing paw. "You could have made yourself remember, had you remembered that little memory spell."
"Wot did 'ou do that for? An' how did you get 'our paw to do that?" Aissa asked rubbing her head.
"It didn't work... that must mean that her brain's been wiped. There isn't any memory TO restore..."
"Wot?"
"Precisely."
Oh no! Aissa! Dangit! Fora! I will get you! Huh!? Wait! I got an idea! well, sorta! Miki! Can you understand me?!"
Miki nodded.
"Alright! Sable! Aissa! Jump on!"
The three jumped onto the huge blood red eagle and flew into the sky.
"Where're we going?" Aissa asked.
"I dunno. Where ever Miki takes us. Go Miki!".
It took a while, but they eventually found themselves in a courtyard. It was dark, but Sable assumed it was the front yard of Fora's palace.
"Wot now?" Aissa asked Miki.
"Eeee! Eee, eeee, EEEE!"
"What did she say?" Kris asked.
"This is where she was taken to be hired. We might find answers."
"Fools!" Fora herself appeared in front of them. "You will pay!" In a quick flash, Miki was truck by green lightning. She changed was changed back to human and fell, seemingly dead. Fora lifted Aissa into the air, then made her float toward her. She shot a lighting bolt at Sable.
She changed into a wolf and dodged them all. "Stop it! Kris! take this!" A masamune made of pure gold shot from the sky and into Kris's hand.
"Wow!"
"No! Keep that thing away from me!"
"Return Miki and Aissa back to normal!"
"Take this!"
A green lightning bolt shot toward Kris. She put the sword in its way. It absorbed the bolt. Kris pointed the sword toward Fora. The bolt hit her.
"Ah! dangit!"
Kris rushed up to Fora with the sword.
Aissa was flung to the ground so hard it jarred her breath away. Somewhere in the back of her emptied mind she felt an urge... and instinct to protect her master.
"But who?" she asked herself weakly just before.
"Wh-where am I?" Aissa asked herself as she was standing in a moonlit field of carnations.
"My cub," came a voice so familiar to her that not even Fora's mind zap could make her forget it.
"Mum! Mum, where are 'ou?!" Aissa shouted excitedly.
"My dear cub, what has my old master done to you?" A majestic cloud leopard walked towards her from the far end of the field. She was so large you could see the details of her eyes at even that distance.
"She's changed so much since I died." The leopard hung her head down low. "I feel responsible..."
"Mum, 'elp me. I can't rememba..."
"My dear cub," Her mother brightened a little. "You don't need your memory. You're like the carnations around use. No matter how many times you're changed you will always remain the same. Don't try and think, just do. Your instincts will always be right."
"Really?"
"Of course, now go back and help your true master."
"But...I don' know..."
"Good bye."
"No! Wait! I still 'ave so many more..."
the field faded back into the courtyard.
"Questions." Aissa completed solemnly.
"Yah!" Kris slashed through Fora, but she disappeared. "Bwah! Where is she?! Eh..." Kris turned around. "Dang..."
Fora slashed at her with a sword made of energy.
"Ahh!"
"ROWR!"
"What the hell... ah! Get away form me!"
Aissa sheathed glowing claws and slashed Fora's chest. No blood came from the wound it made, only a white light.
"What?! NOOOOO!" Fora screeched, then the black shadow escaped her through the cuts.
"You won't see the last of me!" the shadow declared. "And you won't know who I'll become next." It cackled and was gone. Fora had a look of deep surprise and she passed out.
"Master!" Aissa declared rushing to her. "I'm sorry master, but I had to cleanse you."
"Aissa!" Sable shouted. "What did you do?!"
"She was possessed. That's why the other the creature was also after me. It knew only I could save my master, just like only you can save Kris." Aissa didn't know where she suddenly gained this knowledge.
"I'm proud of you." Sable howled. She turned back to normal and walked up to Kris.
Miki woke up, looking like she had a hangover the size of Neptune.
"What happened?
"Everything..." muttered Fora sitting up. "Blight!" she hugged the leopard.
"No, Fora. I'm not mum." the leopard old her.
"Oh, that's right..." she remembered Blight's death.
"I am her cub. And I'm yours."
"Of course." For stood. "Lita...Lauren..."
"What?" Kris folded her arms in distaste.
"I-I'm sorry."
"You tried to get me killed! You bitch!" Miki shouted.
"Me too!" Kris was angry as well.
"Mastress was not herself!" Aissa hissed in her defense. "You have no right to accuse her of such things!"
"Wonderful! Just wonderful!" A voice that sounded a lot like a female wolf's voice rung from behind them all. Like Sable's, but it sounded more wicked than normal. Kris, Miki, and Aissa turned around. Fora stepped in behind Kris to see what was going on. "Darn! I was hoping that by telling lies and spreading my evil into innocent beings would get you to destroy each other. Then I'd destroy Sabera once you four and Teral were gone. The I'd be free to rule this dumb planet." The owner of the voice was, in fact, Sable as a wolf.
Kris moved forward toward Sable. "Lies? Evil? Sable, what's going on?"
Aissa moved next to Kris. "What do you mean lies?"
"Get away! I'm not Sabera! My name is Kaga. I'm a spirit of evil. I've taken over Sabera's body. Without me, Sabera would have never remembered those incantations, or what she was in her past live, or anything. And if you must know what I mean by lies, I pretended to be a perfect and devoting dog. I needed to spread my evil into Aiserina, tell her lies to make her jealous and hate me, so when she wanted to fight me, I'd destroy her. But everything went wrong! That stupid dog broke out sometimes and stopped me form destroying anything!"
"'Ou mean, I was neva' evil. An' Sable ain' any diff'rent from me?"
"That's correct, Aiserina you dumb feline! Ruddy shame you got your memory back! Don't matter. I'll destroy you anyway!"
"No! Sable! Can you hear me!"
"Momma! Everyone! Run!" The wolf's eyes changed from cold black to soft dark brown.
"Shut up dumb mutt!"
Miki stood next to Kris. Kris grabbed her twin sister's hand. Both girls stood firm. Aissa tensed up. Miki spoke up. "Sable, Sabera, whatever! I don't know you, but you got to fight this. For Everyone! For Aissa! For Kris!"
The wolf's eyes kept changing as it shook it's head. Finally something happened. A wolf exactly like Sable except that it was pure black with cold black eyes emerged from Sable and faced her. "Darn you! I'm weak like this! I'll be back!" Kaga faded away into evil like black smoke.
Sable changed back into a devoted doberman. "Now what Kris? Fora deserves to stay queen now."
"I don't know. I guess I wouldn't mind staying an outlaw." But what about Miki? And I'll miss Aissa terribly. Is Mom ok? Damn!" "Then again..." Kris turned her back to everyone as wiped away a few tears.
Kaga silently floated high above them in the sky. "Time to get Teranada now!" She faded away.
